Greg spends alot of his time working in his community to help others during times of need. About the Sheriff
Sheriff Greg Seabolt was elected to his first term in office in 2018. Greg was not your typical candidate to run for sheriff in Randolph County. At the time of this election, there had been no other republican candidate to unseat an incumbent as sheriff in this county. Greg and many other supporters worked tirelessly day after day to reach as many voters as possible. His message was "Less Politics and More Service," which resonated well with Randolph County's citizens. Greg's law enforcement background consisted of 28 years with the North Carolina State Patrol spending the last 18 years in Randolph County. Greg always believed that the citizens should come first before any political parties or personal agendas. In his first two years in office, Greg looked at ways to cut expenses in his budget to catch up with purchasing much-needed equipment that had been neglected by past administrations. The opening of a Fleet Maintenance Facility at the Randolph County Sheriff's Office proved to save thousands of dollars by servicing their vehicles. With a fleet of over 250 cars, the fleet maintenance facility saved money and gave the deputies a much safer and efficient vehicle to drive. The decision to open the facility was not a popular decision to begin with by many people. However, Greg continued to fight this battle until the garage opened in March of 2020.
Greg and his wife Candace have been married since 1989 and are blessed to have two children and one grandchild. Greg spent 30 years with the North Carolina Highway Patrol before his retirement in 2013.
Greg was born in Denton, NC, in 1962. He was cared for by his grandmother Ms. Bertha Cranford for the first 12 years of his life. At that point, Greg moved in with a close family member - Blenda Skeen - who had two children close in age with Greg. Ms. Skeen accepted Greg into their family at a very vulnerable time in his life. Upon graduation from Denton High School, he continued his education at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC where he studied Business Administration and played football for the Quakers. After leaving college, Greg applied with the North Carolina Highway Patrol and was accepted into the 76th Basic School. After graduation, he spent 11 years in Guilford County before transferring to Randolph County. He married his wife, Candace and started a family in 1989.
In 1999, Greg organized and created Operation Red Sleigh, Inc to help Randolph County's underprivileged children and their families at Christmas time. Volunteers throughout Randolph County help with preparing and serving meals during the Christmas program. After being brought up in a household with a limited income, Greg understood the importance of helping those less fortunate in the holiday season. The program continues to grow each year has helped over 8,000 children since its existence. The primary fund-raiser is the annual July bicycle ride that begins and ends in Randolph County
Greg created a ten-point plan that addressed many concerns of citizens in Randolph County. Greg successfully addressed each issue and continues to find ways to make Randolph County safer.

“Inorder to lead at the highest level we must serve at the lowest level. An elected official should never forget the needs of the citizens for which he serves.”
